We use nickle plated chains and have never had a problem. Keeps the expense down when making your toy and there is no guilt if you decide not to reuse it. The main thing when using chain is to make sure the links are sized properly so no toes or nails can get caught. 2.0 mm NP Chain is the middle chain shown in the picture.
